Most rules questions come down to three things: default speed limits, who yields, and what to do around buses and emergency vehicles.
School zone 15–20 · business/residential 30 · rural road 55 · limited-access highway 65 · rural interstate 70.
At a 4-way stop, first to arrive goes; if simultaneous, yield to the driver on your right. Left turns yield to oncoming traffic. Entering a roundabout, yield to traffic in the circle.
Red lights flashing on a two-way road: everyone stops. Divided highway with a raised median: only traffic behind the bus stops.
Move one lane away from a stopped emergency, tow or utility vehicle. If you cannot, slow to 20 mph below the limit.
Signal at least 100 feet before turning. Right on red is legal after a full stop unless posted otherwise.
No parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, on a crosswalk, on a sidewalk, or in front of a driveway.
